Materialized Manager

Roles Security

Roles are assigned read and/or write permissions to data bases and data models from the Modeling module. These permissions are then saved in the model definition file, which is stored in the CMS. When the data flow and model are processed, they are materialized into a live data base and live data model, which can then be queried from the other Pyramid modules. The security permissions that were saved to the model definition file are automatically applied to the materialized data base and data model.

Role security for materialized live data bases and data models can be managed from:

  • The materialized manager in the CMS: assign roles to read and write permissions for a given server or live data base or data model
  • The security & metadata panel in the Admin console: assign roles to servers, data bases, and data models. Roles can also be assigned to metadata in each materialized live data model, enabling you to define which roles can and can't see given hierarchies, members, and measures. Assign given roles to hierarchy and member overlays.

Model Definition File

The model definition file is stored and secured in the CMS, meaning that the instructions for how to run the data models can be secured and shared through the CMS, like other content items.

Depending on the security roles assigned, users can open, view, and execute the models from the CMS.

Materialized Manager Panel

Assign roles to materialized servers, databases, data models, and Machine Learning, by granting Read and/or Write permissions in the CMS Materialized Manager:

Select the relevant server, database, or data model from the tree in drop down menu.

From the list of roles, grant Read and/or Write access to assign roles to the selected server, database, or data model. You can locate users quickly using the search bar, or filter by a given letter.

Click Propagate Roles to assign the selected roles to the current level and its children. For instance, selecting this option at the server level will assign the selected roles to the server, its databases, and the data models within those databases. If you propagate roles from the database level, the roles will be assigned to the selected database and its data models.

Click Apply to confirm your selection.
